The Kansas City Chiefs welcomed back cornerback L'Jarius Sneed to their active roster for Sunday’s matchup against the Los Angeles Chargers, resolving a knee injury concern that had initially placed him on the questionable list. Sneed’s return adds depth to the Chiefs’ secondary, while the team dealt with multiple setbacks, including the loss of wide receiver Rashee Rice and offensive tackle Josh Simmons, who were ruled out on Friday.
Additional Chiefs players—tight end Jared Wiley, quarterback Garrett Nussmeier, defensive back Jadon Canady, defensive end Jack Pyburn, and offensive tackle Diego Pounds—were also listed as inactive for the game, limiting Kansas City’s offensive and defensive flexibility heading into the contest.
On the other side, the Chargers faced a significant blow with linebacker Bud Dupree’s absence due to a neck injury, removing one of their key pass-rush forces from the lineup. The team also had to manage a crowded inactive list, which included safety Derwin James, wide receiver Tre’ Harris, cornerback Donte Jackson, guard Kayode Awosika, right tackle Joe Alt, and cornerback Rodney Shelley.
Despite listing six players as questionable earlier in the week, the Chargers managed to activate all but Dupree, though Shelley’s hamstring injury ultimately kept him off the field as well. The absence of Dupree and Shelley further tightens an already competitive secondary battle between the two teams.
