Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts has been diagnosed with a severe complication of his earlier leg blood clot, now confirmed as deep vein thrombosis alongside multiple pulmonary embolisms—one in each lung. The condition, which carries significant health risks if untreated, was revealed in a statement from the team and his agent, Nicole Lynn, after further medical evaluations.
Hurts remains clinically stable and is undergoing anticoagulant treatment, which will prevent him from participating in any contact activities, including football, for the foreseeable future. While his prognosis is considered positive with no long-term effects expected, the Eagles emphasized that he will remain active with the team during his recovery period.
The diagnosis follows an initial superficial vein clot identified during a recent trip abroad, raising questions about the timeline and response to his initial symptoms.
