Kings vs Avalanche Game Preview: Kings Hockey is Back

The Los Angeles Kings open their 2026-27 campaign tonight against the Colorado Avalanche at 10:00 PM EST, marking Peter Laviolette's debut as head coach. Los Angeles enters the matchup missing Kevin Fiala due to leg surgery, alongside healthy scratches Corey Perry and Erik Gustafsson, with Darcy Kuemper slated in goal.

Colorado will be without the injured Logan O'Connor and Zachary L'Heureux, dressing eleven forwards and seven defensemen with Mackenzie Blackwood between the pipes. This contest is the first meeting of the new season between the squads, following Colorado's playoff elimination of the Kings last year.
