Cricket Ireland has brought in former international Ed Joyce to serve as the new high performance batting coach for the men's senior squad and the broader male talent pathway. Joyce previously accumulated 151 appearances for the national side, compiling 5,552 runs at an average of 40.82 alongside 10 centuries and 29 half-centuries, while also making 19 appearances for England during his playing career.
Following his retirement from playing in 2018, Joyce transitioned into coaching and led the Ireland women's team from 2019 until stepping down last year. Stepping into his new role, he emphasized the continued importance of solid technique and positive mindset alongside the modern power game, aiming to help the men's batting group achieve greater consistency on the international stage.
