Joey Porter Jr. trade winners and losers: Will Jerry Jones' big move actually help Cowboys?

Following a rocky opening stretch marked by defensive vulnerabilities, the Dallas Cowboys are moving to acquire cornerback Joey Porter Jr. from the Pittsburgh Steelers in exchange for a sixth-round draft choice and a 2028 second-round pick.

Jerry Jones's franchise hopes the addition will shore up a struggling unit after a 1-2 start that included a tight loss to the Baltimore Ravens, while Porter seeks a fresh start and a potential long-term contract extension.
