Dallas Wings forward Jessica Shepard has claimed the league's Most Improved Player honor following a stellar campaign. After moving to Dallas from Minnesota, Shepard expanded her production significantly by averaging a double-double with 14.5 points and 11.1 rebounds per contest.
She also secured twenty-nine out of seventy-four ballots from a voting panel of sportswriters and broadcasters to edge out Shakira Austin and Carla Leite. In addition to her statistical leaps in assists and playing time, Shepard collected numerous triple-doubles and earned an initial All-Star selection as a starter.
Meanwhile, her squad prepares for postseason action against the Golden State Valkyries.
