Former world record holder Joyciline Jepkosgei will headline a star-studded women's field at Sunday's Cardiff Half Marathon, which marks the fourth stage of the 2026 SuperHalfs Series and serves as the Welsh Championships. Jepkosgei, who made history as the first woman to break both the sixty-five-minute barrier in the half marathon and thirty minutes in the 10km, brings a personal best of 64:13 to the race.
She will face strong competition from Ethiopia's Wede Kefale and Winnie Kimutai, alongside defending Welsh champion Natasha Wilson and a deep international contingent. In the men's division, Rome-Ostia champion Gideon Kiprotich enters as the fastest participant with a sub-fifty-nine-minute personal best, joined by course record holder Yismaw Dillu and fellow contenders Vincent Kipkorir and Simon Maywa as they contend for top honors under improved weather conditions.
