San Francisco 49ers owner Jed York has received a six-game ban and a half-million-dollar penalty from the league following a no-contest plea to disorderly conduct and criminal tool possession charges over the summer. Having already missed the first three contests while league officials reviewed the matter, York is permitted to rejoin the team on October 20 and will be eligible to attend a Week 7 matchup against Atlanta.
York issued an apology acknowledging his responsibility for the mistake, while the team has managed an undefeated 3-0 record during his absence.
