Jeanie Buss has initiated legal action to prevent her siblings from offloading the family's 17.8% interest in the Los Angeles Lakers. In a recent court submission, she alleged that Joey and Jesse Buss are orchestrating a coordinated media campaign against her due to resentment over their father's succession plan.
If the sale proceeds, the family would drop below the 15% threshold required to maintain control of the franchise. A potential $12.5 billion acquisition involving Bob Iger and Josh Kushner is currently under consideration.
The dispute is scheduled for a hearing on December 8 in Los Angeles Superior Court.
