Javonte Williams really hurt the Cowboys on this play
The Dallas Cowboys fell to the New York Giants 28-20 at MetLife Stadium during Sunday night's season opener on September 13, 2026. Giants rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart completed 23 of 29 passes for 230 yards and three touchdowns without a single interception, earning head coach John Harbaugh a victory in his team debut.
Despite the defeat, Dallas running back Javonte Williams produced two touchdowns on the night, including a score in the third quarter and a 17-yard receiving touchdown in the final period. That fourth-quarter play turned costly when Williams extended the football toward an opponent while entering the goal line, drawing a 15-yard taunting infraction that hindered Dallas's comeback attempt and now leaves the former Denver Broncos ballcarrier awaiting potential disciplinary action from league officials.
