The New York Knicks’ Jalen Brunson has emerged as the NBA’s top-rated leader in the latest annual general managers’ poll, securing 53% of the vote—a rare and significant honor for a franchise that has struggled for relevance in recent years. The result marks a sharp departure from perennial favorites like Stephen Curry, who placed second with 20%, while other stars like Cade Cunningham and Wemby (Luka Dončić) received only single votes.
Beyond leadership, Brunson also led the positional rankings for point guards, finishing second only to Cunningham, while the Knicks as a whole saw a dramatic surge in executive confidence, with 60% now projecting them to finish atop the Eastern Conference—a 30-point jump from last year. The poll also highlighted other Knicks contributors, including Mitchell Robinson, who ranked second in “Most Underrated Player Acquisition,” and Og Anunoby, who earned a lone vote as the league’s best perimeter defender.
Head coach Mike Brown, meanwhile, garnered three votes for “Best Coach,” trailing only Mark Daigneault and Erik Spoelstra, and was also recognized for his motivational skills and offensive strategies, with 17% of executives betting the Knicks’ offense will rank among the league’s most efficient this season.
