Jack Miller expressed deep regret to spectators at Phillip Island after the Australian MotoGP was abandoned due to hazardous weather conditions. The Pramac Yamaha rider, competing in his final home Grand Prix, was forced to settle for a parade lap in his special livery after organizers determined that poor visibility prevented the medical helicopter from operating safely.
After the cancellation of the warm-up and the lower-class races, Miller personally thanked the crowd for their patience by distributing his gear to fans and addressing them over the public address system. While the Australian event is slated to move to an Adelaide street circuit next year, Miller plans to return to this venue for the WorldSBK season opener.
