Isak, Barcola and Wirtz turn up - player ratings for Liverpool v Brighton

Liverpool secured a clean sheet performance despite some defensive scares, with Alisson managing to avoid punishment after an early loose pass allowed an opponent to strike the woodwork. In attack, Bradley Barcola and Florian Wirtz both delivered standout displays, with Wirtz forcing an own goal from Pascal Gross while Barcola constantly troubled the opposing defense.

Alexander Isak also found the net once again, registering his sixth consecutive Premier League goal to reward the strategic planning of Andoni Iraola.

Brighton faced early disruption when Ferdi Kadioglu was forced to depart due to a hip injury early in the contest. Olivier Boscagli endured a difficult afternoon trying to contain Barcola before being substituted at halftime following a caution and a costly turnover.

Despite periods of solid possession from players like Chema Andres, the visitors ultimately fell short against their clinical hosts.
