Red Bull rookie Isack Hadjar was given a formal warning after stewards deemed his shove of a paddock guest at the Mexico City Grand Prix justified. The incident occurred before Friday's free‑practice 1 when a fan tried to take a selfie, prompting Hadjar to push the person away as he made his way to the start line in a crowded area with limited security.
The stewards cited the guest’s aggressive, uninvited approach and Hadjar’s need to focus on work in the garage, noting his age and the intrusion into his personal space. Hadjar expressed satisfaction that the decision reflected his viewpoint, calling the outcome fair play.
He later qualified seventh for Sunday’s race, starting two rows behind teammate Max Verstappen, who received a one‑place grid drop after a clash with Racing Bulls' Liam Lawson in FP2.
Verstappen had previously likened the paddock to a “zoo” because of the high volume of guests, a sentiment Hadjar echoed, saying the environment needs to calm down. Both drivers highlighted the challenges of navigating the paddock amid numerous VIPs and media, emphasizing the need for better security and respect for drivers' work zones.
