Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes is poised to take the field for his team's Week 1 opener against the Denver Broncos on Monday night. The signal-caller has finished his rehabilitation process following a December 2025 injury in which he tore both the ACL and LCL in his left knee.

Having logged a complete practice session on Friday, the passer is projected to assume his typical starting duties under center.

Head coach Andy Reid indicated that Mahomes will almost certainly be in the lineup as long as no unforeseen complications arise. While earlier projections suggested his recovery timetable might bleed into the 2026 campaign, the quarterback underwent surgical repair the day after his injury and successfully navigated an eight-to-nine-month rehabilitation regimen to prepare for the divisional matchup.
