Patrick Mahomes has plenty of self-criticism after Chiefs’ opening win

Patrick Mahomes guided the Kansas City Chiefs to a 31-10 triumph over the Denver Broncos on Monday night, marking his comeback exactly nine months following an ACL and LCL tear suffered against the Chargers. Kansas City's opening possession featured Mahomes rushing 15 yards to score on the ground after an initial scramble into the end zone was erased by a penalty.

Across the Week 1 victory, he accumulated 184 passing yards, threw two touchdowns, and tied his career-best regular-season touchdown run distance.

Despite the decisive win, the quarterback maintained a critical view of his play, declaring that he needs to perform better going forward. He also addressed the state of his surgically restored left knee and characterized the result to supporters as merely the start of the team's campaign.
