Montreal Canadiens goaltender Jacob Fowler stopped 46 shots to lead his team to a 2-0 victory over the St. Louis Blues.
The Blues were outshot 24-3 in the third period but failed to score despite 49 total shots on goal. This marks the second consecutive shutout for St.
Louis, following a 4-0 loss to Carolina, totaling over 123 minutes of scoreless hockey.
Blues coach Jim Montgomery and forwards Robert Thomas and Dylan Holloway noted Fowler's exceptional performance. The team's second-most shot volume in a shutout loss since 1986 occurred as Jake Neighbours and Cam Fowler hit the posts.
This sequence of back-to-back shutouts is a first for the franchise since November 2019, when Mike Yeo was the final coach before Craig Berube's tenure.
