Indiana wide receiver Charlie Becker sought out Ohio State head coach Ryan Day following Saturday's contest in Bloomington to express regret over a chant directed at the Buckeyes during the previous season's Big Ten title game. Becker described the incident as uncharacteristic and offered his apologies to Day and the Ohio State program.
The matchup concluded with a 19-15 victory for the top-10 ranked Buckeyes, which ended the Hoosiers' 22-game winning streak. Indiana had entered the game undefeated after capturing the national championship the prior year.
Both squads remain in contention for the upcoming conference title game, though Ohio State's outlook is complicated by a recent injury to quarterback Julian Sayin. The Buckeyes will observe a bye week before traveling to face USC on Halloween, while the Hoosiers head to Ann Arbor to challenge Michigan next Saturday at noon ET.
