Hungry major champs move into striking distance at Baycurrent

The 2026 Baycurrent Classic in Japan has tightened into a thrilling finish after three rounds, with Adam Scott and Justin Thomas now just one stroke behind the leaders. Scott, chasing his first PGA Tour victory in six years, fired a 65 with two eagles to climb into contention, while Thomas matched his effort with a 67.

Their aggressive play has reignited talk of their ability to close out major championships, even as other top contenders like Xander Schauffele—who sits four shots back after a mixed round—continue to battle for position. Meanwhile, Keith Mitchell and Jacob Bridgeman remain tied atop the leaderboard at 20 under par, setting the stage for a final-round showdown at Yokohama Country Club.

The field’s depth and recent form from veterans like Scott and Thomas add extra intrigue to the weekend’s outcome.
