The Arizona Cardinals made a bold move in the 2024 NFL Draft by selecting Marvin Harrison Jr. with the fourth overall pick, betting heavily on the Ohio State standout’s elite college production.
Harrison, who tallied 1,263 yards and 14 touchdowns in 2022 and followed that up with 1,211 yards and 14 more touchdowns in 2023—including standout performances against Michigan, Penn State, and Georgia—was widely regarded as the top non-quarterback prospect. However, his NFL career in Arizona has fallen far short of expectations, with just 885 yards and eight touchdowns as a rookie, including a single 130-yard outing against the Rams that became his only 100-yard game.
Last season, he managed only 608 yards and four touchdowns in 12 games, while teammate Michael Wilson emerged as the team’s primary playmaker, signing a lucrative three-year, $75 million extension in September. With Harrison struggling to find consistency—including a dismal one-catch performance in two games this season—the Cardinals have reportedly decided to trade him after just three seasons and 33 games, marking the end of a high-stakes investment that failed to yield the expected results.
