Humbled BYU returns home after loss to UCF with plenty to unpack

The second-ranked BYU Cougars suffered their first defeat of the season in a double-overtime thriller against UCF. The Knights secured a 39-31 victory at home, capitalizing on several mistakes and defensive lapses by the visitors.

Despite their previous momentum, the Cougars struggled with penalties and missed tackles throughout the contest. This outcome significantly impacts the Big 12 standings following other upsets across the conference.

UCF coach Scott Frost described the win as a major milestone for his program, while BYU now looks to regroup before their upcoming matchup against Arizona State.
