Houston Rockets vs. Dallas Mavericks game preview

The Houston Rockets kicked off their preseason campaign with a commanding 135-117 victory over the Dallas Mavericks, showcasing standout performances from key players. Alperen Şengün delivered a triple-double in just 22 minutes of action, while Fred VanVleet’s return to the lineup proved impactful after his absence.

Despite 21 turnovers and defensive lapses in the second half, the Rockets’ offensive firepower was on full display during the exhibition matchup held in Macao, China. Looking ahead, Dallas coach Dusty May has indicated Kyrie Irving will likely take the court for one of the two upcoming preseason games, with Kevin Durant’s availability remaining a game-time decision.

The Rockets will wrap up their preseason schedule with a home game against the Oklahoma City Thunder before the regular season opener against the Mavericks on October 21, where star power and roster depth will be put to the test once again.
