Hot Take Tuesday: Caleb Williams and Ben Johnson have put everyone on notice

The Chicago Bears began their 2026 campaign with an explosive offensive display, defeating the Carolina Panthers 59-37 on the road in Charlotte. Under the guidance of head coach Ben Johnson, third-year quarterback Caleb Williams directed an attack that piled up points with ease throughout the Week 1 shootout.

Despite the lopsided victory, Williams and running back D'Andre Swift expressed frustration with the unit's execution, pointing to penalties and missed fourth-down conversions as evidence that the group fell short of its true potential.

Johnson echoed that critical stance, maintaining high standards for the franchise moving forward. Chicago now turns its attention to an upcoming home matchup against the Minnesota Vikings, intent on cleaning up errors from the opener while proving their high-scoring debut was no fluke.
