New Zealand has announced a 19-player roster for three upcoming four-day unofficial Tests against India A. The squad includes 11 players with international experience, including Henry Nicholls, who is slated for the third match.
Rhys Mariu will captain the side for the first two games, while the leader for the final contest remains unannounced. Other experienced players included are Ben Lister, Tim Robinson, Jayden Lennox, Mitch Hay, Matt Fisher, Dean Foxcroft, Kristian Clarke, Adi Ashok, and Nick Kelly, the latter of whom is expected to play in the final match.
Pete Sanford, the Head of High Performance Development for New Zealand Cricket, expressed excitement about the host nation's players getting to face a high-quality India A side. The series will take place alongside white-ball fixtures between the two nations.
The first and third matches will be held at Bert Sutcliffe Oval in Lincoln, with the second game scheduled for Hagley Oval in Christchurch. India A's roster features stars like KL Rahul, Rishabh Pant, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Washington Sundar, Akash Deep, Devdutt Padikkal, and Sai Sudharsan, though Pant is sidelined for the first two Tests due to a left side strain.
