Having bashed Boston without Aaron Judge, Yankees turn attention to AL Division Series vs. pesky Rays

The New York Yankees advanced in the postseason by sweeping Boston without the services of Aaron Judge, relying on dominant pitching performances from Cam Schlitter and Max Fried. Manager Aaron Boone now prepares his squad for an upcoming series against Tampa Bay, weighing whether to deploy Gerrit Cole or Carlos Rodón in the opening game.

Meanwhile, the Tampa Bay Rays secured the American League East title and earned a five-day rest advantage before hosting the next round of competition.
