LSU secured a 38-17 victory over Auburn on October 24, continuing a strong offensive run following a loss to Kentucky. Quarterback Sam Leavitt, a transfer from Arizona State, delivered a standout performance despite a hamstring injury, accounting for four touchdowns with 387 passing yards on 32 of 45 completions and adding 54 rushing yards on eight carries.
He and Dilon Jones handled the rushing duties until the final period. Leavitt's 45 pass attempts were a season high and just one fewer than his career peak of 46 during a 2024 College Football Playoff game against Texas.
Receiver Jackson Harris, who transferred from Hawai’i, continued his ascent as a primary target, recording 178 yards and two touchdowns on nine catches, including a 70-yard score. Harris has since recorded seven touchdowns and 517 yards on 31 catches over his last five games, compared to just five receptions in his first three matchups against Ole Miss, Louisiana Tech, and Clemson.
Defensively, LSU limited Auburn's Byrum Brown to 21 yards on 19 carries, a sharp decline from his 100-plus yard outings against Georgia and Tennessee. Auburn finished with 67 total rushing yards on 35 attempts.
