Former national team skipper Michael Vaughan has voiced strong backing for Harry Brook, predicting the batter will eventually steer England to a limited-overs championship. Vaughan highlighted Brook's exceptional calibre on a recent podcast appearance, drawing attention to the player's potential to dominate future multi-format encounters.
Following the departure of Jos Buttler as white-ball leader after an early exit from the ICC Champions Trophy, Brook has stepped into the captaincy role. Alongside his duties leading the team in the shorter formats, Brook currently sits at number two in the global Test batting rankings.
Vaughan also anticipates that the right-hander will claim man-of-the-series honours in an upcoming Ashes contest. Brook previously captained the squad during an ODI tour against Australia and served as vice-captain during the Champions Trophy.
The twenty-six-year-old athlete is now preparing to feature in an upcoming tri-nation tournament alongside Pakistan and Sri Lanka.
