Greg Schiano faces 'tough decisions' at Rutgers football's bye week

Following a heavy 47-15 defeat to Indiana that dropped their record to 1-4, Rutgers head coach Greg Schiano acknowledged the need for a thorough defensive review during the team's upcoming bye week. The Scarlet Knights surrendered 593 total yards and allowed the defending champions to rush for 329 yards, highlighting persistent tackling issues and blown assignments.

Despite a complete offseason overhaul that brought in a new staff and over ten transfers, the defense has struggled significantly since the opening loss to UMass. Schiano stated that everything is under evaluation for the remaining seven games, though he maintains full confidence in his current coaching staff to turn things around.
