The New York Giants are set to host a workout for veteran pass rusher Yannick Ngakoue, a move that could address their defensive line needs after a challenging offseason. Ngakoue, a 31-year-old with seven career seasons under his belt, was originally selected by the Jacksonville Jaguars in the third round of the 2016 NFL Draft.
His experience includes stints with the Baltimore Ravens in 2020 and 2024, where he played under current Giants head coach John Harbaugh. Though he managed just 1.5 sacks last season—all with the Ravens—his versatility as both a defensive end and outside linebacker makes him an intriguing option for the Giants’ rotation, which has been reshaped by the departure of Chauncey Golston.
Ngakoue’s recovery from a 2023 broken ankle, which sidelined him for the entire 2025 season, will be a key focus for Harbaugh, who likely wants to assess his readiness after a year away from the field. With 71.5 career sacks and 243 tackles, Ngakoue’s resume could help bolster the Giants’ pass-rush depth alongside Abdul Carter and Kayvon Thibodeaux.
