Giants turning to J.J. McCarthy experiment with hopes of unlocking untapped potential

Following a two-win, one-loss, and one-tie stretch from Jameis Winston that kept the franchise leading the NFC East, the Giants are pivoting to J.J. McCarthy for an eleven-game stint.

Head coach John Harbaugh opted to move away from Winston due to offensive constraints, providing the twenty-three-year-old former Minnesota signal-caller a chance to showcase his growth ahead of Jaxson Dart's projected return in 2027. McCarthy previously saw action in relief during a thirty-four to twenty-seven defeat against the Saints, and he now prepares for his inaugural start as a heavy underdog.
