Giants enter uncertain post-Jaxson Dart era with Jameis Winston taking over season

The New York Giants face a major turning point after losing starting quarterback Jaxson Dart to a severe left knee injury during just his second professional season, requiring surgery to repair his meniscus and medial collateral ligament that will sideline him until 2027. Head coach John Harbaugh acknowledged the difficult team meetings following the diagnosis but praised subsequent practices as the squad prepares for fifteen remaining regular-season matchups without their young playmaker.

With Dart out of commission, veteran backup Jameis Winston steps into the starting role beginning with a Sunday afternoon matchup against the Tennessee Titans. Winston will lead the offense under difficult weather forecasts involving a potential nor’easter storm at the venue, as the franchise transitions from high expectations around their injured sophomore passer to the unpredictable nature of their seasoned backup.
