Game Thread: White Sox at Astros, AL Wild Card Game 1

After overcoming three straight campaigns with one hundred or more defeats and totaling eighty-four victories to secure a Wild Card berth, the Chicago franchise prepares to begin a three-game series against the Houston squad. The visitors revealed their postseason roster featuring twelve pitchers, two catchers, five infielders, and seven outfielders, leaving off Trevor Richards and Drew Romo while including Tommy Pham and backup catcher Jake Rogers behind Kyle Teel.

Left-hander Hagen Smith, who boasts a 1.29 earned run average across twenty-eight frames, will take the ball to start the opening matchup as the team deploys an opener for the thirty-second time this year.
