Game #161: Astros at A’s Game Thread

The Athletics are playing the final two contests of their 2026 campaign, wrapping up a difficult year defined by injuries and a struggling pitching staff. The Oakland squad plays the spoiler role against a Houston roster that is currently battling for the American League West division crown and a postseason spot.

Right-hander Jack Perkins takes the mound for his final start of the season, looking to build upon a strong finish that includes allowing only a single run in each of his previous two outings. Managerial decisions also focus on evaluating younger bats like Henry Bolte, Lawrence Butler, Shea Langeliers, Zack Gelof, and Tommy White as the club prepares for the return of injured players next year.

On the opposing side, the Houston team counters with right-handed pitcher Hayden Wesneski for this matchup.
