Gabby Williams named MVP as the Golden State Valkyries win first WNBA championship

The Golden State Valkyries etched their name into WNBA history by capturing their first-ever championship in just their second season, overcoming the Atlanta Dream in a dramatic Game 7 victory. The Valkyries secured a 68–63 win, with guard Gabby Williams delivering a standout performance, scoring 30 points—including a dominant second-half outburst—to earn Finals MVP honors.

The hard-fought series, spanning seven games, showcased the resilience of both teams, though Williams’ clutch scoring ultimately sealed the franchise’s historic triumph. The championship marks the fastest expansion team in WNBA history to win a title, solidifying Golden State’s rapid rise as a contender in the league.
