The Furyk & Friends tournament on the PGA Tour Champions has adjusted Friday’s first-round schedule to start at 8 a.m. ET at the Ocean Course at Hammock Beach, nearly three and a half hours earlier than planned, due to a stubborn weather forecast calling for persistent rain and thunderstorms.
Tournament officials extended the playing window to accommodate potential delays, with gates opening at 7 a.m. ET for spectators.
While light rain may not halt play, lightning or pooling water on greens or fairways will trigger suspensions until conditions improve. The PGA Tour’s color-coded weather alerts will guide fans and players through the day, with red and purple warnings signaling immediate evacuation.
Notable early starters include Stewart Cink, Miguel Ángel Jiménez, and Davis Love III, teeing off at 9:50 a.m. ET, followed by Zach Johnson and Bernhard Langer shortly after.
Despite the forecast’s challenges, the event’s evening concert featuring Billy Currington remains on track for 7 p.m. ET.
