Fulham edge West Ham in five-goal thriller

Fulham secured a spot in the Carabao Cup fourth round by claiming a dramatic 3-2 victory against West Ham at London Stadium, delivering Alvaro Arbeloa his second triumph at the helm. Before kickoff, attendees paused to remember former Hammers goalkeeper Ludek Miklosko following his death from cancer, with Tomas Soucek placing a memorial jersey behind the net.

The attacking clash quickly lived up to expectations, as Rodrigo Muniz directed an early header into the net before Morato equalized with a header of his own inside three minutes. Cesar Palacios restored the away side's advantage with a smart flick beyond Finlay Herrick, yet West Ham pulled level once more on the brink of halftime through Pablo's maiden strike for the club.

Seeking a decisive breakthrough, the hosts introduced Jarrod Bowen and Taty Castellanos, but an interception by Fulham replacement Josh King setup fellow substitute Oscar Bobb to weave through the box and convert his debut goal for the Cottagers. West Ham appeared destined to force another deadlock when Bowen presented Castellanos with an open opportunity, though the Spanish forward squandered the chance due to complacency against Timothy.
