From teenage limbo and Mangotsfield United to Champions League dream

Miguel Freckleton completed a remarkable climb from non-league football and Mangotsfield United to the Champions League with LASK. After spells with Chesterfield, St Mirren, and Swindon Town, the defender made a European debut during a dramatic comeback victory against Celtic before group stage trips to Anfield and the Santiago Bernabeu.

Earlier in his career, an early departure from Bristol Rovers followed by trials at Wolves and a £50,000 compensation fee left the youngster briefly without a club before he rebuilt his path through the Bristol Inner City Academy and South Gloucestershire and Stroud College.
