Florida State coaches Mike Norvell and Herb Hand are actively seeking to secure an offensive lineman for their upcoming recruiting classes, turning their attention toward pledged Syracuse talent Omari Lawson. The four-star prospect, who committed to the Orange in late October of last year, is scheduled to attend the upcoming matchup against Virginia on Saturday.
Since receiving an offer from the Seminoles in September, the 6-foot-6, 260-pound blocker has accumulated over fifteen total scholarship offers, including interest from programs like LSU, Georgia, and Florida.
Ranked as the 119th overall prospect and the 15th offensive tackle in his cycle by 247Sports, Lawson remains a major priority as Florida State attempts to alter his collegiate trajectory. The program currently holds three verbal commitments for its 2028 recruiting group, a haul that sits ninth nationally according to recruiting rankings.
With more than a year left before the final signing period, this recruitment figures to remain a heavily contested battle.
