Former Washington Nationals are already making a big impact in the postseason

Althouhg the franchise missed out on the MLB postseason for a seventh consecutive campaign, several alumni of the Washington Nationals are making their presence felt on October rosters. Luis Garcia Jr., who suited up for the 2026 squad, propelled the New York Yankees ahead by launching a solo home run into the right field seats during his inaugural playoff appearance against the Boston Red Sox.

In other roster developments stemming from the matchup, Curtis Mead missed an opportunity to participate after sustaining an injury following a trade from the capital club, while Foster Griffin awaits his turn in the Cleveland rotation during a first-round bye.
