Titleist’s upcoming 2027 Pro V1 and Pro V1x golf balls are already making their way into PGA Tour players’ bags ahead of their official release. The new models, currently in a global validation phase at this week’s Baycurrent Classic in Japan, have drawn early interest from top professionals.
Neal Shipley, who tested the balls at the Biltmore Championship Asheville, shot a career-low 62 in the second round and finished tied for third, marking his best result to date. Doug Ghim switched to the 2027 Pro V1x at the Bank of Utah Championship after testing it earlier, posting a 54-hole total of 22-under par and nearly securing a playoff spot.
Scottish golfer Robert MacIntyre also adopted the new Pro V1 at the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship, finishing tied for sixth after previously working with Titleist on prototypes. The rollout follows months of testing, including practice rounds at the Arnold Palmer Invitational involving players like Adam Scott, Jordan Spieth, and Ryan Gerard, with more professionals expected to integrate the balls at the Baycurrent Classic, featuring names such as Spieth, Scott, Justin Thomas, and Xander Schauffele.
Titleist has not yet revealed technical details about the new balls, though a retail launch is anticipated around January or February.
