Former Miami Hurricanes tight end Alex Bauman secured a temporary restraining order from Washtenaw County Probate Court Judge Julia B. Owdzieg, allowing him to enter the transfer portal and enroll at Michigan.
The injunction was granted on Tuesday, and the Wolverines announced plans to add Bauman alongside former Boise State cornerback Jeremiah Earby, both receiving an extra year of eligibility.
Bauman, who caught 18 passes for 166 yards and one touchdown in 16 games for Miami last season, joins a Michigan offense that is 3-2 overall and winless in the Big 10, coming off defeats to Iowa and Minnesota. His experience as a blocker and pass‑catcher could help the Wolverines, who may see him debut as early as next Saturday against Indiana at Michigan Stadium.
