Logan Stanley has ended months of uncertainty by agreeing to a one-year contract with the New York Islanders carrying a value of $1.5 million. The 28-year-old blueliner spent the previous campaign between the Winnipeg Jets and Buffalo Sabres, registering career-best numbers with nine goals and 17 assists across 76 total appearances.
Having tested free agency through the summer and the bulk of training camp, the towering defender joins an Islanders defensive unit that already includes Tony DeAngelo, Ryan Pulock, Alexander Romanov, and Matthew Schaefer. New York completed its exhibition slate prior to his arrival, leaving the organization with just a handful of practices to integrate their newest skater before the regular-season opener against the Toronto Maple Leafs.
