Former France star slams Real Madrid superstar Kylian Mbappe over Ballon d’Or campaign: ‘He lost control’

Kylian Mbappe faced criticism from Bixente Lizarazu following the 2026 Ballon d'Or ceremony. Although Mbappe finished only 28 points behind winner Harry Kane, Lizarazu argued that the forward prioritized individual recognition over team success and lacked humility during his campaign.

Lizarazu emphasized that despite high goal tallies, Mbappe failed to secure any trophies for his club or country last season. The former defender suggested that the Real Madrid player must focus on collective victories to improve his future standing for the award.
