Flyers Game Preview: Early Test in High-Stakes Home Opener

The Philadelphia Flyers kick off their 2026-27 campaign at home against their division rivals, the Pittsburgh Penguins, on Wednesday evening. Philadelphia enters the matchup returning a largely intact roster from the previous year, featuring Dan Vladar in goal and newcomer Joseph Woll as his backup.

Meanwhile, Pittsburgh rolls out a heavily altered lineup missing several key skaters, turning to Arturs Silovs as their starting goaltender. Key players to watch include forwards Tyson Foerster and Matvei Michkov, both of whom look to leverage strong past performances against the Penguins to jump-start the Flyers' opening night.
