Flyers fall short in overtime again, remain winless with third straight loss

Philadelphia suffered its third consecutive defeat to begin the campaign, dropping a 3-2 overtime decision to Carolina. Shayne Gostisbehere delivered the decisive blow with an extra-man tally in the extra session after Owen Tippett sat for a slashing infraction.

Rick Tocchet's squad fell behind early when Sebastian Aho netted the first of his two scores merely ten seconds into the contest. Owen Tippett and Matvei Michkov countered with goals for the visitors, while netminder Joseph Woll turned aside 37 shots.

In addition to the scoreboard setback, the visitors may be without blueliner Rasmus Ristolainen, who exited due to a left hand injury and will undergo further medical assessment.
