Florida football’s Aaron Philo in doubt for Texas showdown with mysterious injury

Florida Gators quarterback Aaron Philo’s availability for Saturday’s high-stakes showdown against No. 7 Texas remains uncertain after sustaining an unspecified injury during last week’s 38–16 loss to South Carolina.

The sophomore, who has thrown for 1,341 yards and nine touchdowns this season, has been limited in practice this week and was listed as “questionable” by ESPN’s Pete Thamel. If Philo cannot play, redshirt freshman Tramell Jones—who entered the South Carolina game and completed six of eight passes for 40 yards—would likely start in his place.

The Gators, once ranked No. 1 nationally, face a tough road after falling to unranked Oklahoma last weekend, while Texas seeks to rebound from its own recent setback.
