Oregon football’s starting quarterback situation remains in flux ahead of Saturday’s showdown with Nebraska, as senior signal-caller Dante Moore has been ruled out of the game due to injury. Moore, who suffered a concussion in the Ducks’ 41–27 victory over USC on September 27, will miss the contest, leaving head coach Dan Lanning to decide between Dylan Raiola, Brock Thomas, and Akili Smith Jr.
Raiola, who stepped in for Moore against USC and threw for 289 yards and two touchdowns without an interception, struggled in Oregon’s 17–15 loss to UCLA last week, completing just 6 of 19 passes for 43 yards and two interceptions before being replaced by Thomas. Thomas, meanwhile, performed more effectively in that game, finishing 11 of 15 for 156 yards and a touchdown, bolstering his case to start in Moore’s absence.
The decision comes after Lanning previously indicated he would rely on the Big Ten’s injury report to confirm Moore’s status, which now clearly excludes him from the lineup.
