Ferrari not yet switching focus to 2027 F1 car

Ferrari team boss Fred Vasseur confirmed that the squad intends to proceed with upgrades for the current SF-26 challenger, refusing to abandon work on the machine despite fading championship hopes. The decision follows a difficult Spanish Grand Prix, where Charles Leclerc managed no better than a fourth-place result.

The weekend proved even harsher for Lewis Hamilton, who was forced to abandon the race early due to failing brakes. That mechanical stoppage leaves the seven-time world champion trailing standings leader Kimi Antonelli by a massive 101-point deficit.
