Falcons vs. Steelers: A look at the series history going into 2026
The Atlanta Falcons will travel to Acrisure Stadium on Sunday, September 13, 2026, for a 1:00 p.m. ET kickoff against the Pittsburgh Steelers to launch their respective regular seasons.
Both franchises enter the opening week under freshly appointed head coaches, with Mike McCarthy inaugurating his tenure in Pittsburgh alongside veteran signal-caller Aaron Rodgers. Atlanta hopes to overcome past road struggles against the Steelers, while opposing quarterback Tua Tagovailoa aims to establish rhythm amid early-season hurdles.
Individual battles will shape the outcome, most notably the clash between wide receiver DK Metcalf and cornerback A.J. Terrell, along with Pittsburgh's defensive front applying pressure.
The game has also drawn insights from former Atlanta running back Michael Turner, who delivered words of caution regarding Rodgers and his squad ahead of this initial clash.
