The second round of the DP World India Championship was cut short by fading light, leaving several top players mid-round and disrupting their competitive momentum. Four leaders—Joost Luiten, Ángel Hidalgo, Adrian Meronk, and Thomas Detry—topped the leaderboard at eight under par, though Detry’s round was halted after just seven holes.
Eddie Pepperell and Todd Clements, both one shot back, completed their 18-hole rounds, while Northern Ireland’s Tom McKibbin dropped to three behind after seven holes. Rory McIlroy, tied for 17th at four under, had his round suspended after four holes, along with Tommy Fleetwood and Robert MacIntyre, who were also impacted by the early cutoff.
The delays follow heavy rain and thunderstorms that suspended play for five hours during Thursday’s opening round, with the second round set to resume at 02:45 BST on Saturday.
